Restoring Ceramic Tile Flooring in Houston Church
SERVPRO of River Oaks was called into South Main Baptist Church of Houston, TX to clean and restore the original ceramic tile flooring that was installed in 1928. The ceramic tile had been covered up with carpeting for many years and SERVPRO had to remove several layers of carpet glue and construction debris to bring life back into the tile. SERVPRO crews used glue remover solutions, followed by machine scrubbing the tile, extracting the residues, and hand cleaning to make certain the tile was brought back to its original condition. Once the tile was cleaned, a protective coating was added to bring out the shine in the tile. Though there was some slight settling damage from age, which SERVPRO did not address, the tile looks fantastic and the congregation was ecstatic that SERVPRO was able to salvage the 1928 tile.
